☺ Location was ideal for exploring the area.
Parking on site was welcome but could be a tight squeeze at times.
Helen the owner was very friendly and always greeted you with a smile. The guest house is located in a Quiet residential street.
A number of local superb restaurants are close by within walking distance.
☹ 1) After driving 8 hours we arrived in Newquay 30 mins before specified check in time, I rang to enquire if the room would be available to be told it wasn’t and we would have to wait in the car park.
2) One evening we were awoken in the early hours by loud noise/partying at the guest house. Helen the owner did apologise for this, however disappointingly no reduction in the cost of our stay was offered.
3) The guest house doesn’t offer a cooked breakfast option. For the cost of our stay I feel there should be a more substantial offer.
4) There were no towels on arrival.
5) Sadly, inside of the drawers in the room and inside the bathroom cabinet was very dirty , I didn’t take my clothes out of the suitcase or my toiletries! Again, I expected better for the cost of our stay.

Adequate. Okay for one or two nights, but not a week. 9.2 rating exaggerates the accommodation.
☺ Location. Clean.
☹ Not ensuit. Separate bathroom down stairs. Limited parking. No A/C, unless you include a desk fan!

Amazing!
☺ The location was great - 5 minute walk from the beach and high street. Helen was such a lovely host and even made us some Cornish pasties for the drive home! The room was immaculate and setup at breakfast was very pretty, there was a good selection of continental options and hot options like croissants/pasties. We had the balcony room and it was bigger than we expected which was a nice surprise.

Avalon is a privately-owned, non-smoking guest house, situated in a leafy residential part of Newquay.
We are only 250 metres from Tolcarne Beach and some half a mile from the town centre.

4. All bed linen and all towels are laundered in-house to ensure high standards are maintained.
Environmental Policy:
We are committed to do our part to save Mother Earth. The following policies are in place;
1. Energy saving bulbs are used throughout the accommodation.
2. We extensively use glass containers instead of plastic which harms our marine life.
3. We re-use worn out linen by using it for cleaning and dusting.
4. We encourage that our guests turn-off appliances than leaving them on standby, particularly overnight.

Booking Terms and Conditions
A deposit of £25 per person per week is required to secure a booking. This may be made by Cheque/Postal Order. Payment for accommodation should be made on arrival or within 24 hours of arrival.
Rooms are available from 2.00pm on the day of arrival. Luggage may be left earlier if required. Rooms should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure. We regret that no allowances can be made for rooms not occupied, or meals not taken during the period of the booking. Please Note: All bedrooms are no smoking
Meal Times Breakfast 8.30 am – 9.30 am
Holiday Cancellation Deposits are non-refundable upon cancellation unless covered by Holiday Insurance. In the event of cancellation of your booking we will make every effort to re-let the accommodation. However if we are unable to do so, you may be charged the total cost of your booking. All cancellations should be made by telephone, followed by a written confirmation of cancellation.
