The Zoo in Newquay is a very popular destination and has received awards of excellence over the years. While it is ideal for a family outing, Newquay Zoo is dedicated to wildlife conservation and operates as an associate of the Wild Planet Trust.

The zoo focuses on endangered species and has a flourishing breeding program. Visitors are always enthralled by the baby animals that can be seen on visits.

What are Newquay Zoo opening times?

So, you will be thrilled to know that the Newquay zoo opens every day except Christmas day. The zoo opens at 10:00 am every morning. Closing time varies depending on the time of year. Depending on the season, the zoo may close at either 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm. You can always call and verify before you visit.

How much do you have to pay to visit The Zoo?

Since the Newquay zoo is a not for profit charity, its price structure is built around giving a 10% donation. The government gives 25p on every pound you pay in entrance fees to the Zoo. The prices vary depending on what time of the year you visit. The prices are as follows:-

From now to March 29th and with a donation included, your price options will look like this.

Adults pay £15.95

Child between the ages of 3-15 years pay £12.00

Child under 3 years are free

Senior citizens (65 years and over) and students pay £13.60

Bargain ticket for 2 adults and 2 children are £49.95

Donations are not compulsory, so you pay a reduced price if you choose not to contribute. From 30th March, all rates increase by a few pence more. You should also know that the Newquay zoo offers annual passes as well if you plan on being a regular visitor.

Where can I park?

Newquay Zoo parking is available as there is a car park next to the zoo. If you want an idea of the seasonal charges you can call beforehand or visit the zoo’s website.
For our guests,The Zoo is within a walking distance from Avalon guest house.
So could leave the car at the guest house and take a short walk to get there.

What animals can I expect to see at Newquay zoo?

The Zoo is home to more than 130 species of animals. Exotic birds, big and small cats, monkeys, lizards and much more.

Here are a few of the less known animals that you can expect to see:

Six banded armadillo

Agouti

Yellow-breasted capuchin monkey

Capybara

Luzon bleeding-heart dove

Carpathian lynx

Scarlet macaw

Red panda

Humboldt penguin

Brazilian tapir
